Title: Condensers Post by: brian on 15 July, 2022, 11:56:46 AM Just searched on Forum for "condensers" and nothing since 2019.
Driving back from Ashby Show last w/e 3mls from home the engine died without warning. My Aprilia experiences on SPR made me think it was electrical and although all (points, wires, HT leads etc) seemed fine there was no spark. Called AA. Nice man came and agreed with my diagnosis and nipped me home to get a condenser and coil. Former off Hands! and latter out of B10 spares. Changed coil - no effect. New condenser - instant start. So 3 lessons: 1. Condensers can suddenly just stop working without any warning 2. 6v and 12v unmarked condensers seem to work happily anywhere 3. They are small light and cheap so always keep one in the tool kit. I have ordered 6.
