Title: Aurelia Tyres
Post by: aurelia63 on 16 June, 2008, 04:02:55 PM
I am renewing the tyres on my 6th series. Any suggestions?

www.mytyres.co.uk  seem to be pretty good, worth a check anyway.

Michelin "X" series or Pirelli Cinturato are both period tyres that are available, www.longstonetyres.co.uk is your best bet I think. My fathers car wears the Michelins, and it goes very well on them.

Had a quick chat with my father yesterday and although he runs on Michelin X (400 x 165) he suspects the XAS may have more grip (he chose the X purely for originality). There are a few other Aurelia owners on here so I am sure they will be able to offer some advice.

I have just bought a set of Michelin X for my B50. They were £104 +VAT each from Vintage tyre supplies www.vintagetyres.com
I used to have XAS on a B20 they were 165/400 but had a slightly wider footprint and certainly had more grip in the wet! Not sure if you can still get them though.
