Title: Flavia Coupe 2000, 1970. Seat belts
Post by: alan284flavia on 31 December, 2021, 06:41:34 PM
My Flavia has no rear belts but having now got a bouncy Golden Retriever to match the gold car, I feel I need to restrain him but am unsure as to mountings for rear belts, I did change fronts to inertias ok but dog restraints push into buckle of the belt, loose lap belts would do. My Subaru Outback has solid rear headrest stems and I can hook a restraint around them as belt stalks are covered by seat cover but Flavia Coupe has no rear headrests.
Any suggestions welcomed

A 1970 car should have mounting bolts under the back seat for at least lap belts as a legal requirement shouldn't it? If it's only the dog you are concerned about you would be able to bolt in the just receiving end of a modern seat belt for the dog restraint to click into. You can get just that bit cheaply online through Amazon, E-bay or whatever and it's a simple spanner job to install it.

My 1970 Flavia 2000 Coupe has all the holes provided, including outside edge of rear parcel shelf for 3-point [hidden under the vinyl-covered board].
Got my rear belts from KCP Car and Commercial. Can't remember if this link was for the rear belts [standard length] or fronts [extra long]: https://shop.kcpcarandcommercial.co.uk/epages/100080302.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=4990521 (https://shop.kcpcarandcommercial.co.uk/epages/100080302.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=4990521)
Odd colour but matched my seats and looks good. Very easy to install and balance.
