Title: Import to UK Registration (Non EU import)
Post by: Cookengland on 20 December, 2021, 09:37:01 PM
Hi,

In true DVLA form they have an abundance of confusing information about registering an imported vehicle.

I have recently imported a S1 Fulvia from South Africa but finding the process a little confusing. And the V55/5 form asks for an extreme amount of details.

Can anybody recommend somebody that helps with the registration process or has anybody imported any Non-EU cars recently.

Any help appreciated. Car has been in the family for 40years and keen to get it on the road before my Dads 80th Birthday.

P.S its got 10,000km on the dial and done 20miles in 36years.

Thank you.

You can contact me via DVLA@lanciamc.co.uk.

The car will need to be inspected by another club member. I can then provide you with a dating certificate to submit with your V55/5. DVLA won't normally register cars other than those taxed and MOT'd in EU countries without authentication by the club. Unfortunately their guidance often leads people to submit the V55/5 without a club letter which they then request, leading to inevitable delays.

I'm away for a week from Lunchtime today.

Neil

Thank you for that. This is exactly why I'd seek experienced assistance before attempting the process on my own.

Will send an email and await the New year.
Enjoy the break.
