Title: Ex Alperton employee
Post by: Jay on 08 June, 2021, 12:58:56 PM
I was out swapping cars around on Sunday and an older gentleman who must be in his late 70’s pulled into my road, wound down his window and all he could say was ‘wow I can’t believe it’. I invited him to have a better look, it turned out he worked at Lancia Alperton, after seeing his first Aprilia in Holland Park mews when he was a teenager. He mostly worked servicing Aurelias, changing their clutches and was full anecdotes like the time they service an Aurelia convertible only for the owner to top it up with shellac once he got it home, which he was storing in an oil can. Seeing the Aprilia really made his day, sadly I am very bad at remembering names, but he was a very nice humble old bloke with a big smile on his face.

I got them for a price that I couldn’t refuse, original purchased by a guy in Austria used them once and didn’t like the look, yes so much lighter I think they knock at least 1 second of the 0-60 time, still have the originals.

That's fab!    At the BP station on the A11 close to Newmarket last week I spoke to a bloke who had worked on Fulvias and Flavias at a Lancia dealership.
