Title: Delta GTie - New purchase
Post by: grandespud on 10 May, 2021, 03:28:34 PM

Hi All
After a few years in the wilderness (well, sort of, been in the Alfa world!) I'm back in the LMC with my new purchase - a lovely Mk 2 Delta GTie - D41 FTP.
Some of you may know it and I've found a bit of chat about it from a few years back. I bought it a few days back from Peter in Leeds, so as I'm just down the road, it hasn't gone far.
It's a low owner, low mileage car in excellent order, so well worth keeping on top of. I'll be writing up the owner history, some of which I already know a little about. There's a file full of history to go through as well which should shed more light on the story. If anyone knows anything of it's previous life, I'd be interested to know about it. Hope to see some of you at this years events.
Cheers, Paul.

Fantastic, had a few GTie's back in the day, a Mk1 carb engined GT too. Would love to stumble on another one.
Please, post some pictures  8)

And like you I have returned to Lancia ownership having strayed to Alfa as daily users for the last 10 or 15 years.

Cheers.
Didi a quick count up earlier, and I've had 12 Lancias in total versus 9 Alfa's (with a dash of Fiats in there as well), which was a bit of a surprise. Although in terms of duration, the Alfa's have definitely been for longer periods.
I tried to insert a pic earlier but couldn't get it to work for some reason. I'll give it another go tomorrow. Possibly just because I'm a newbie.

There's a file size upload limit per post, could be that?

I tried to count, but I keep forgetting stuff!
Alfa wise the 156 was what drew me away from Lancia Dedra daily drivers, lured in with A/C!  ;D

As the new owner of 'Florence' you will be most welcome on the Yorkshire area jaunts we occasionally organize. PM me your email and/or Facebook link  if you are interested.

I always resize images to their smallest size before attaching them to posts using the image resizer for windows. The resulting image quality is plenty good enough for a forum post. I can elaborate if needs be.

Still no good for me. I don't get any options to select a file when I click on the 'insert image' button. I just get '(http://)' appearing as text. Drag and drop doesn't work either. The image is only 167kB.

Hi

Not sure where your insert image button is, but to add a photo click on ‘Additional Options’, then ‘Choose File’ button. This should allow you to select the photo you want?

Here's a link to when I last saw here next to my car at the Bristol Italian Auto Moto back in 2017 ( before she moved to Leeds )

It's a lovely car , great choice

Now I think of it, the Delta at the far end is also a GTie

And here is my French Lancia Delta GTie. Working hard. Great car and as a French market car has completely different gearbox ratios, steel wheels, and no power steering.

Congratulations on your purchase Paul! I haven't met Pete in person yet but I have spent quite a lot of time chatting to him on Facebook over the last few years (I've got a 1300 LX and an HF Turbo). I also met the previous owner before Pete and have got his email address if you'd like to get in touch with him.

It sounds like you've found this thread already but just in case you haven't:

Your new car was on display at a classic car show in Surrey (Cranleigh) on 16th Aug 2015 before it went up for sale at the auction on 29th Aug. I was at that show and took quite a few pictures which I am happy to email to you if you want (I was naturally very interested in it!) - just PM me. And as Steve said above, it was at the Bristol event in 2017 as well and I should have some photos from there too.

Enjoy it. I plan to go to the Sunday of the AGM weekend with one of my Deltas if you plan to make the trip south yourself.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Steve
Thanks for that. I can't get into the db yet though. I think Frank has emailed you about my access details.
Cheers

a couple of grand will get you a decent Prisma in Italy..they were very popular there. A slaoon obviously, and a bit more roly poly than a Delta..but otherwise very similar according to those I have spoken to who have owned both.

If only these cars were still available now as RHD in the UK!
