Title: Price list - June 1977 - free to a better home
Post by: DavidLaver on 11 February, 2020, 10:00:51 AM

Not sure why I have this or where it is from, and its obviously no size to keep, but I'm doing my best to clear out at least as fast as it comes in so this is available to a better home.

Meanwhile some entertainment for us all...I'm in for a Beta 1300 coupe with a heated rear window as standard at £3643.38 inclusive of the 8% vat and £259.50 car tax. I'd rather not have the electric windows, but am still pondering if the £173.16 is is too much for metallic paint.  Anyone able to post the colour card to help me here?

Taking a picture of small print late at night in a dark corner isn't the best...who knew...here's the stuff from the back.

That 1300 Coupe would be £22,800 in 2019 money, and the paint an extra £1083.  I've solved the paint issue as its NOT an option on the 1300, only the "1600/2000 models".

A Beta 2000 HPE is £32,200 plus the paint and electric windows another £889.  Call it £34,000.

...also you need to pony up for a 2000 for the right to order the electric windows.

The Monte Carlo (two words) is £37,100.

I was trying to compare this with current UK prices for Alfa Romeos but am not sure what would be considered a comparable car.

David

I'd be more than happy to give a home to these gems. PM me with a price for P&P.

Neil

Yours!   PM me the address.

(P&P is so little just put a coin or two in your corner shop's charity box or something, I just wanted to give it its moment in the sunshine then move it on to a better home)

34k with met paint and electric windows was quite a bit for an HPE. It also seemed a fair jump in price from the equivalent saloon (although of course, it was two or three cars in one!).
My impression is they got quite a bit cheaper as they got towards the end of production, but I could be wrong.
