Price doubled too, a sizable restoration project for the brave.

Unless you can do most of the work yourself or need to spread the cost over several years better off to buy something like this.

No connection to the vendor.

£10,000 doesn't go far on  a full restoration.

Robin.

To me "barn find" usually describes a condition anywhere from needing more than "recommissioning" up to "not quite bad enough to scrap". It's a car where someone thought it worth storing under cover but were not falling over themselves to get it back on the road.

I do like exploring definitions.  Having married a lawyer I've had practice.  "Bridge or tunnel" was a motorway game for the kids from whatever age they could talk.

For me a barn find is complete and untouched, rather than something part stripped with "am sure its all in there" as the vendor waves at some soggy cardboard boxes in the boot.

Maybe "barn find" also translates to "not been bodged".  It might be shot to bits but its only mother nature.

I fear "barn find", not being a technical term, defies precise definition but I wish all barn finds were as you describe.
