Title: Touring Co
Post by: Richard Fridd on 12 October, 2019, 09:33:22 AM
From https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1164506 The Touring Convertible was not to become a Lancia but a Maserati. Maserati had the intention to market the Touring bodied convertibles but the plan failed. Lancia purchased the "empty bodies" and mounted their own engine. I have not heard of this before. Does anyone here know more?

It sounds highly improbable both as Touring built something similar for Maserati and as the floor pan and sub frames are pure Lancia.

Again, sounds iffy, if the hard-top Touring was a Lancia through and through why would the convertible be a Maserati. They weren’t like British Leyland when badge engineering was ripe.
