Title: Wheel nut socket and spinner?
Post by: DavidLaver on 24 April, 2019, 11:35:01 AM

What's the tool in the foreground?   I'm guessing its to spin wheel nuts (or bolts) then put the bar on to tighten.

Here's the ebay link:

Hi David

You are spot on, it and the ratchet were supplied with the Beta as well as the Fulvia

Oddly the same jack and tools came with my Augusta. It lacked a starting handle which would have been useless anyway as the engine rubber mounts were perished, letting the engine sit too low for the handle to fit. Bushes replaced and new handle now made.

Is that in the early tool kits Peter? Never had the ratchet with any of my Betas.

Hi Neil

Sorry forgot that point. I think it is just the Spyder which has the shaped black plastic/cardboard 'box' rather than the plastic clip together box the other Betas have which hold the tools and hence the ratchet etc are different.

I also think it is the same as the Fulvia Coupe one.

My Fulvia 2c Berlina also has the cardboard toolbox, as well as the wheel nut spinner which is a very handy piece of kit once the wheel nuts are loose.

Hi Brian

Never seen a Berlina one hence my caution in saying just the Coupe, but maybe the same for all the Fulvias?

Peter I suspect you are right but when I bought my 1969 1 3 Rallye Coupe from Michael Newberry about 1997, it didn't have any tools with it.
