Title: Fulvia 4 speed gear lever knob
Post by: chriswgawne on 29 November, 2018, 10:12:22 AM
I have recently picked up a lovely 'S2 Fulvia' type gear lever knob but 4 speed, not 5 which I have fitted to our S1 GTE. I haven't seen a 4 speed one before.
Am I right in thinking that this type of large black polished knob with the blue centre and silver markings was an S2 fitment at the time of the changeover to the 5 speed dogleg gearbox......but because Lancia had a number of 4 speed boxes around at the model change, these were used up by being fitted to early S2 Saloons and therefore they needed to make some 4 speed gearknobs to the new design?
Or is there a simpler explanation?
Chris

I know parts interchange is less than likely - but could it be for a Flavia / 2000 in their change over period?  I know it gets complex around that time for Flavias/2000s and Fulvias with their "series two and a half" etc (etc...).

You may well be right David. The guy I bought it from advertised it as a 'Fulvia gearknob' but that means nothing really.
I would ideally like to find another one the same for our GT saloon.
