I always felt that to be an unfair comparison as there is really virtually a decade between the two cars. The Flaminia except for the increased engine size and change to disc brakes is largely as it was in 1957 whereas the W108, launched in 1965, developed from the preceding model in gaining not only disc brakes but also had a 6 cm lower ride height and a new rear axle with hydro-pneumatic compensating suspension. By 1965 the Flavia was Lancia's contemporary offering.
