Only went in for new Sills... Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: simonandjuliet on 21 September, 2018, 08:38:26 PM Can I pour you a glass of wine or, maybe something stronger ?
Title: JLT810N Post by: SJWhite on 21 September, 2018, 09:07:27 PM Thanks Simon
Some more pics One of the 'problems' is that this bunch do not tolerate a speck of rust. So everything has to be cut back to good metal S'pose better in the long run... Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: DavidLaver on 22 September, 2018, 05:54:49 PM Hopefully many years of faithful service will reward the effort. Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: the.cern on 23 September, 2018, 09:46:43 AM Definitely better in the long run ....... as far as Jim was concerned that was the only way to go!!!!
Good luck with it, Andy Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: nthomas1 on 23 September, 2018, 10:45:43 AM Great to see another UK spec Fulvia being restored. It would be easy (and perhaps financially more sensible) to let these cars go to the scrapyard and instead import rust-free cars from Italy or South Africa. Thankfully there are those of us crazy enough to undertake the rebuilding of cars that show the wear and tear of over 40 UK winters! Good to have a healthy mix of UK and Euro-spec cars in the club.
Title: JLT810N Post by: SJWhite on 23 January, 2019, 09:44:40 PM Profuse apologies
Not been updating Will post some pics however latest big problem is it needs a new front sub-frame.. Regards Simon Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: SJWhite on 23 January, 2019, 10:15:22 PM Seriously though
Would appreciate any thoughts on what to do Cheers Simon Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: fay66 on 24 January, 2019, 01:13:39 AM Seriously though Would appreciate any thoughts on what to do Cheers Simon [/quote Simon, Looking for one in Italy is probably your best bet, they do come up, that one looks like a serious bit of scrap, I wonder what it handled like :o Brian 8227 8) Title: JLT810N Post by: SJWhite on 24 January, 2019, 07:44:36 PM Thanks Brian - thats actually more useful than you think
The garage reckons its scrap and I thought (hoped) they were being maybe a wee bit harsh So - for you to confirm their view does help Couldn't really pin any handling issues as such apart from pulling to the left for no apparent reason And the sub-frame looked ok until all the krap was blasted off it The garage reckon they can fix it / make a new one however I'm not so confident and apart from anything else is the cost. This garage seems very good however is expensive - overheads, VAT (Grr) etc Anyway - will keep looking Cheers Simon Title: Re: JLT810N Post by: frankxhv773t on 24 January, 2019, 08:12:07 PM A subframe has just popped up on e-bay today, said to be unwelded and in good fettle with just surface rust.

What I learned was NEVER KEEP A SPREADSHEET!!!! You'll know its done right, hopefully you're somewhat enjoying the process, and here's to it rewarding you with many years of adventures and service.
