Had a trip to Norfolk yesterday to pick up some new S2/3 windscreens Omicron had been minding for us. Lovely part of the country and some super cars to look at but no Appias.

I think I probably have a simpler reason for this problem: maybe the wrong generator is fitted. The generator attachment bracket holes are smaller than the hole in the engine block.

pictures will not really help.
The hole in the engine block that the generator attachment bolt goes through has either been widened/damaged/worn by the bolt moving in it or an insert/bush is missing. The result is the generator can rock from side to side if the top stay is loose. When the top stay is tightened it pulls the front of the generator towards the engine block so the pully is not aligned with the crank pulley. It works but it must be putting a large load on the front generator bearing. I will try and draw a diagram to explain the problem |

In my Aprilia Register I have a note that this car was imported from Hong Kong possibly in 1946.
I also have noted that it was owned by Malcolm P Underwood in Rugby in 1976, 1977 when it was recorded in the LMC registers in those years. I'd really like to get the chassis number. Paul Mayo |

I have a record of it in the LMC Register in 1965, so not very useful.
I note that the DVLA information includes cylinder capacity of 1631cc - unusual Did you find the car and do you have its chassis number? Paul Mayo |

Have you any pictures of your issues as I have not yet come across a hole being too big for the bolts?
