Title: Service
Post by: Spider2 on 11 May, 2023, 08:29:24 AM
Hi,
Apart from oil and filter changes every year my S1 Sport has not had a complete service for a couple of years. I have never done one so I would appreciate some guidance. I know there are a few greasing points on the front suspension and I can see an obvious one each side. I believe there are 3 each side but I recollect reading somewhere that they are quite difficult to access. So information on greasing and other areas to attend to would be appreciated.
Thanks

Eleven grease nipples?
Including the gear linkage?
My Flaminia  has grease nipples for door hinges also.

BP lubrication chart might help for S1 cars

Some suspension grease nipples were deleted on Series 2 and Fulvia 3 (mainly wishbone being redesigned with metalastic bushes instead).

I have a series 2 car but with some series 1 parts including the front suspension
Here is the list of grease nipples that I have discovered

Steering idler top
gearbox selector rear
gearbox selector front
upper control arm bolt x 2
upper control arm ball joint (rear facing)x 2
lower control arm ball joint (under) x2

Unless the bushes had been replaced with modern ones, S1 cars have grease nipples also for the bushes linking the lower wishbones to the  subframe (4 in total). Andrea
