Title: Twin port head
Post by: Running Board on 21 December, 2022, 09:28:09 AM
Looking for idea's to Twin port an Augusta cylinder head whilst i'm building an engine , I finished one off on a car that someone had started a few years ago , i'm just looking for inspiration and the best idea as obviously once you've cut a hole in a cylinder head there's no going back !

Mine looks like this. There is a plate welded inside the head to stop the exhaust from the front two cylinders getting further back than the front pipe. It would pay to have a couple of flexible joints in the downpipes, as they attach to the head at different angles.

that looks a tidy job , is the square plate welded to the head too or bolted? the car that i finished had had the fins machined off then flange bolted straight to the head

The flange is attached to the head with countersunk screws.
