Oh yes...

Stiff competition from Chris's Aurelia, that 037 Stradale in the carpark, the obvious 250SWBs (for all not nice over the bumps...). The formula juniors pull me in more and more but that may be the variety of them more than any one example.  Quite a choice of Bugattis - I'd settle for a wire wheel four cylinder T37 but would insist on it being supercharged.  A post war Bristol engined Nash would probably have been the choice for the drive home.   That Porsche in the pits is a bit special...

Just a great weekend with Goodwood's usual attention to detail. You can see that they allocated the Italian car in my event adjoining garages - the next door Ferrari came from the USA for the event and the next one along was an Italian car.
Thousands and thousands of daffodils through Lavant and the chicane and the circuit looked fabulous. My overriding impressions were the spectators enthusiasm for the 'access all areas' policy including grid walks before the races, the general air of 'fun' as there were lots of activities for wives/girlfriends and children which were not motorsport related and everybody's affability.
Also I should mention that in the LMC we do not know how lucky we are to have our Goodwood trackday. I chatted to several Historic racers who I know from other events (who were not competing at Goodwood) and they all mentioned rather wistfully how much they would, like to drive around Goodwood!
Saturday and Sunday were both sunny and dry albeit a little breezy from time to time but the circuit remained dry for both days. My race was red flagged about halfway through because a Rochdale GT ended up on its roof at St Marys and after the restart there were several incidents caused by overdriving on cold tyres. I had a great time on the track as the car went well, I got the tyre pressures right (Dunlops are tricky I find) and I started 24th and finished 16th. I was called into the Clerk of the Course at Race Control after the race which was a little worrying but all he wanted was a witness statement regarding an offending driver who overtook through 2 waved yellos and SC signs after the big accident. He will have been suitably taken to task and will probably have blown his chances of another invite from Goodwood because of that 'red mist'.
Funnily enough the guy I bought OFV570 from 19 years ago as a wreck for spares, Andrew Purcell from Wrexham with whom I have had no contact since,  turned up for a chat in the paddock and muttered that he wished he had hung onto the car. Strangely enough, about 6 months ago out of the blue someone contacted me and sent me a photo of the car at an auction in Manchester in the early 80's where it was sold for £175.....to Andrew Purcell!
Bearing in mind I paid Andrew £1,500 for the car I was able to tell him he actually did alright!!
Sunny weather on Saturday and Sunday with lots of socializing by everyone including an amazing party at the circuit on Saturday evening with fire eaters, disco, brass bands, circus, helter skelter, stilts dancers, carousel, bars etc etc and then to cap it all the very best (by a long long way) fireworks display I have ever seen.
I will attach a couple of photos, one of the paddock and the other of the grid forming up taken from behind which is quite interesting.
The signs are that the event will take place next year.

Great story Chris..........I find it all fascinating how the smallish number of B20s, both UK registered and imported have been re-circulated over the decades.

Only 25 sold in UK during their production, how many of those survive and indeed how many more were imported to UK and or survive also?

Makes my efforts look very amateur. Still writing report and checking out my 1500 images. Here is one of Chris Gawn taken on the re-start, and one car I think you may have missed, but probably not.
