For a week now I've been unable to upload any photos I get the message Error, upload file full, send smaller file or resend later. All the file have been within the KB limit, so I don't know what to think, doesn't seem like it's me, but Brian 8227

Brian, I had the same problem a few weeks ago, when I tried to attach photos of Lancia support vehicles for Lee (mailed them directly to Lee in the end), I sent a mail to Rodders to investigate, I assume the problem had been resolved as subsequent pictures had been pasted forum, may be not then! I am still unable to place any file on the forum after a couple of weeks of trying. As I see other pictures placed in the meantime eg the fulvias of angelorange it may be user related;is there a capacity per user for example that might be exceeded? I know well enough how to upload pictures so I'm certain i'm doing it right. The error message remains the same as described by Brian. The page is http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=post2;start=0;board=23

I'm afraid the truly technical stuff has to be answered by Rodders, and I think he's fairly tied up at the moment. Please bear with us.

On the subject of ‘uploading’.
For photos this usually seems to work OK, although I haven’t seen any recent photos posted up by angelorange (as referred to by Scarpia). However, the 124 KB size limit is a bit low and if this could be raised to 200 KB I think it would make things much clearer.
My real problem is with text. I would like to be able to post extracts from old LMC Journals and other sources, and I have it in mind that the Warby Annex could be a good place for such things. But, whenever I have tried scanning in say a half-page of A4 text it ends up by being either too big, or just not legible. Does anyone know what is the optimum form and/ or compression method to use for such scans?
More things to follow – I hope,
Colin

Colin, as you mention being able to upload photo's without any problem can you attempt a random test upload.I cannot upload files (photo's, text or even items of general abuse) of any size at all for some time already. Previously I had no problem placing photo's up to the 125 kb limit but this of course is insufficient to see a document or such like in detail.I always have to try a couple of times to get a file just under the 125kb limit by playing around with the dimensions.
I was refering to the photo's of the 1600hf brands hatch photo's from Angelorange which I thought was posted last week.

Hmm. I've found where to amend the file limit and have doubled it to 256KB. I'll just drop a note to Rodders and check we won't melt the server...

Scarpia and co,
The latest photo that I can see from angelorange is from June 2007. I posted one on 30 October (balancing V engines). I have just scratched around among the many delectable images that I have access to, and tried to post one that you all might have enjoyed, but it failed to go. Hey ho...

Scarpia,
Absolutely no! For the time being I have finished with all that cult of the personality stuff. Until I am provoked again, for me it’s all down to the delights of technical ingenuity, fine engineering and the pleasures to be had from wonderful cars.
More soon, hopefully with pictures, or text!
Colin
