Hi

Would anyone have a good condition Ducellier alternator 7553A + price idea + location?

Failing that, where could I get any parts?

Not charging, so left it in to an alternator place (Gloucester) who said they don't have or, know where they can source parts.

Any tips / suggestions most welcomed

Many thanks

I assume you have ruled out the remote regulator?

Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

I discovered a burnt feed wire, so I removed the non charging alternator (mechanic was too busy!).  There is live feed from the wires

I thought there was a regulator built in!

If it's remote, whereabouts is it?

Don't have the car at home, it's at the mechanic's.

Thank you

It’s a remote unit screwed to the right side of the car behind the headlights, pretty close to the open end of the air intake and easily accessible. It’s a dark brown box somewhat larger than the usual Fulvia relay(s) mounted next to it.

If you buy a new one I would suggest getting a modern solid state unit. Pieces Fulvia sell them.

Julian

take a photo of the burnt wire and post here please.

I think some original ducelier regulators are black Bakelite

Thank you all for your replies.

The alternator repair shop said they found a faulty rectifier and it's now repaired with 6 month guarantee. Will collect tomorrow.
