Hi ,There is a Ardea coming up for sale in the Historics at Brooklands auction shortly .I am interested in bidding for it and wondered if any members know anything about this vehicle (reg YXG 642) or if indeed it is a club members car. Also if anyone who has experience of these vehicle has any tips or advise on what to be aware of when viewing a potential purchase I would be glad to hear from them. Thanks Alan

Shows as sold for £13,440

Looks in lovely condition.  What Lancia do so well is a small car with top quality trim.

The front number plate gives an idea of how dinky they are.  The spare wheel cover looks like its got two wheels under.

Beautiful little car for the money. I take it that's the fuel tank at the back of the engine? Have to take care filling that with a hot engine.

... Have to take care filling that with a hot engine.

Not really - all my motoring life I have run cars with scuttle fuel tanks. It's almost impossible to splash fuel when filling because the pump nozzle can be inserted well inside the tank, but if any fuel does spill it evaporates instantly when it comes in touch with a hot engine. The only danger comes if one tries to refuel whilst the engine is running and there is a possibility of sparks from the ignition, but anyone with common sense is going to switch off anyway ...
