Which Trevi Would You Buy?
« on: 11 May, 2016, 10:03:36 PM »
The one that's just popped up for £995 in need of restoration

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANCIA-TREVI-4-DOOR-SALOON-1982-RESTORATION-PROJECT-/272239048457?hash=item3f62b63709:g:EBIAAOSwInxXMhQM

Or the Walkers one that's been on eBay forever but won't shift for some reason, now at £1699!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1982-Y-Lancia-Beta-Trevi-2-0-4-Door-77k-Blue-Classic-PRIVATE-SALE-07929-524122-/272197261187?hash=item3f60389783:g:r~QAAOSwpDdVGZ~V

Then again, there's an equally thin on the ground Beta Saloon with autobox at £250 at the moment

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1980-LANCIA-BETA-2-0-AUTO-LOVELY-ORIGINAL-CAR-FOR-RECOMMISSIONING-RUNS-DRIVES-/272237904616?hash=item3f62a4c2e8:g:kvkAAOSw3mpXHome

which is much better value than the Coupe restoration "project" at £197

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-Beta-Coupe-For-Spares-Only-/141982858126?hash=item210ed67b8e:g:wj4AAOSwlfxXGizA

with apologies for posting that one again, just can't believe how far it's gone!

Guy

Hi
was down at Walkers last week saw the Prisma they have but no sign of the Trevi, the Prisma seemed fairly solid. The restoration project Trevi looks like a whole world of pain to me, whereas the Walkers one looks a bargain with an MOT for £1699...how to sneak it past the wife...

The Walker's one is an earlier version and perhaps a purer rendition of the design with those distinctive alloy wheels. However I do rather like the later mirrors on the barn find.

Back in the early 1990's when I'd first got in to Lancias, I called in at a breakers near Gloucester, I think,
I wasn't looking for anything Lancia and I came across a Trevi, but I had no idea what it was, but my thoughts were "What a Fabulous Instrument panel", I was gob smacked :o

I seem to remember it caused quite a fuss in newspapers but it seemed to be more like the 'Have Lancia gone mad?' variety. Like a lot of good design people come around to it much later.

I think this maybe the ultimate one if you-
1) Have the money
2) Don't mind LHD
3) Don't mind importing from Sienna.

I have read that although the dash is fantastic to look at if you aren't the right position the warning lights are not visible.
