If it is a standard exhaust it should not need more than 2 straps for the centre box, nor any strap to a braking system component!?

It has possibly come loose from the front pipe to centre pipe or the exhaust hangers have got tired or worse and it is hanging lower etc....

Parts now ordered and enroute, they are Radiator Fan Switch, Exhaust hanger and load compensator linkage replacement (dumbbell shaped item with bushes at either end)- bushes had worn.

Did your mechanic rule out the fan switch to earth relay?

Yes Tim,
Andrew Cliffe explained this to me & I relayed the info to my man who had already checked out & overran the full system, cheers.
