My offside caliper is a little sticky & warming up the wheel.  The handbrake is adjusted ok so I thought I'd ensure everything was correct with the caliper.  I purchased from Omicron what I believe are the correct pad pins to replace the existing old split pin type.

The new pins use an R clip which goes through a hole in the pin just below the dome head of the pin.  Any ways the upper pin went in easy enough but to insert the R clip the dome head has to be inboard i.e. Towards the centre of the car.  However the lower one won't go in the same way, the rear spring getting in the way.  The pin will go in the other way, but the hole is obscured, the caliper body being slightly too wide around the outboard hole.

I must be doing something daft?  Any thoughts?

Ended up pretty much losing my brake pedal after going for a long run and just after applying the brakes relatively firmly a few times.  No loss of fluid, so assume I've boiled the fluid?  Pumping the pedal got some brake performance back.  Looking back at my posts the rear brakes have previously been a problem, maybe the best way to go is replacement caliper? .

You could rebuild it with a seals kit. Not too daunting if the pistons are not rusted. Even then you could get a set of replacement pistons.

Thanks Tim, I did get a seals kit but started to wonder whether I'd be best to source refurbished calipers.  Which ever way I go I need to get the calipers off so I guess it makes sense to see the state of the seals & pistons before shelling out £280 or so for a pair of refurbed calipers.
