Hi there,

I am just in the process of having my headlight reflectors re-silvered.
On taking the headlights apart, I have found that the retaining rims, into which the glass and then the reflector sits, are corroded around the lower section.
My guess is that water collects at the bottom, causing the inevitable over a long period of time

Am I being hopelessly optimistic in thinking that I might be able to find replacements for these rims?

Also, can anyone recommend modern reproduction headlights for 6th Series, either to sit in the existing bowls, or as a complete replacement?

Many thanks for any suggestions,
Charles

I think I have solved the first query, after a bit more searching.

Charles,
If you email me a photo of what you need a replacement for I might be able to help.
There is a WIPAC headlamp kit which fits B20s, looks reasonably appropriate and works well although I prefer to keep our cars on the original 'Carello scripted' headlamp glasses albeit with new glasses, not opaque-ish peppered used glasses.

Thank you Chris.  I will send something through.

I have found some modern units which, although not to the same pattern, should do for the time being.
