What a car! A complete work of art. Presumably it will hardly turn a wheel, but then it's every bit as good as a Picasso or Van Gogh sitting on a wall.

That has got to be one of the most beautiful cars of all time, and with a power hood in 1936!

I find the rear quarter treatment rather fussy. Rather more Phoney and Flashy than the usual clean and discreet Farina lines but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think a darker colour would suit it better and allow the chrome detailing to show off the shape better, but as you say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I would be happy to have that in my coach-house!

Perhaps I'll just have to settle for a smaller version for €80!

It sold for $2,145,000 about £1,759,000 at today's rates. Chassis number 33 5313

The Aurelia pf 200 spider chassis number B52 1052 made $1,248,500 (about £1,024,000) in the same sale.
