Try Tayna for online deals. I bought a Varta 5 year 076 as I was not worried about it being black. If you want black - Halfords and pull the labels off!
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

I suggest you have a look at this site. Batteries made with the old-fashioned look. I have one in my Appia (regrettably it has not had a lot of use!!). They are based about a mile from me so I have no experience of the postage bit!!! I have used them over 30 years or so and they have always been friendly and knowledgeable.

I recommend a Varta with the 5 year warranty, I had one in my Flavia and they replaced it FOC when it went on the fritz.. money well spent

Maybe too old fashioned with the exposed terminals and nothing the right size.... but they do a modern 063 which is correct size (I think) 207mmx175mmx175mm. Same as 076 form factor.

I know nothing about Fulvia batteries, but a small company like Lincon is worth using, especially for me as it is local. Offhand, does anyone know when the exposed terminal style battery  got overtaken by the modern sealed unit? I am sure Lincon would readily provide the answer!

Nowadays there are different types of battery .... the 'new' ones much higher rated to cope with the auto stop start technology introduced for economy. I tried to recharge one of these new types with my 'old faithful' battery charger .... nothing doing!!!

I'm also not very keen on exposed terminals or batteries you have to keep topping up, It's one bit of modern technology I'm very happy to use and not have to bother about.
The original Fulvia battery cover hides it very nicely :)

Thank you all; think will go for the varta option but appreciate the recommendation.
