To celebrate this, Michael Elsom organised a splendid lunch at Middleton Stoney which was attended by 10 of us, with three Augustas, an Aprilia, a Lambda and a couple of modern cars.

Thanks for posting these links Don.Fabulous period pictures and film.
Also thanks for posting the pictures John.
The Aprilia looks really racy and modern among the Augustas.

Also sort of proves that Aprilias were not available to customers at that point despite being launched at the (Autumn?) Paris show earlier in 1936 or they would surely have been entered in the race (and cleaned up of course!!!).

Attached picture shows my Augusta being prepared for a visit to a specialist restorer----at last.

The Augusta's journey to the restorer sounded quite stressful Ben  Undecided. Thankfully you managed to get her there in one piece. Are you going to keep us updated on the progress?
