Did anyone catch Chris Evans on Radio 2 this morning?

Between around 7:15 and 7:30 he does a regular slot where children call in and say what they are doing for the first time today.
This morning a girl by the name of Aurelia called in.  This led to a some commentary on the beauty of the Lancia Aurelia         .

As a somewhat bias B20 owner I could not help but agree!  It is good to hear positive comments about Lancias, especially as the Aurelia may not be so widely known as other obvious classics from the era.

Aurelia was banned by my wife as a name for my children. My three sons were very relieved!!!!

"Aurelius" would have sounded very distinguished I think.

Reminds me of this piece of spoken art from Gladiator.....

"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife."

Great clip.  I must find the whole film to watch through; I have not seen it for ages.

This is not unusual.
I can think of at least one person I have met who have named kids after famous Lancias.
As I explained to my son Y10 Fila...:-)

I got away with "Aurelia" as Mathilda's middle name ..... Juliet thought it would cause less embarrassment than Zagata
