1976 Beta coupe - Chocolate Lime

« on: 02 October, 2016, 07:44:45 AM »

This is probably too basic for this forum, but I have to start somewhere.

My Beta coupe has a working cigarette lighter, but neither sat nav or iPhone charger will charge as they do not contact, seemingly being too short.

How do other members get around this, if they have the same issue?

Thanks

Buy a two or more into one old fashioned accessory socket outlet something like

http://www.dx.com/p/bestek-mrs152uv-dual-usb-dual-cigarette-lighter-charging-adapter-socket-w-car-power-charger-black-196626#.V_DPqet4WrU

I have and older version bought from a rally shop where the double sockets are also too long new accessories. The fix here is to find a 3/4 rubber tap washer and a nut and bolt through the centre to act as a conducting spacer.

as i use my stat nav for my mph speedo (not my swimming trunks) so i hard wire it from the supply of the cigarett lighter with a inline fuse and pop a very short lead between a joint in the dashboard.

Good ideas both- thanks. The conducting spacer is a neat idea I must try, but I will get a trailing socket too.
