Only insofar as if it is too tight (the rod is too long)  then the brakes will come on and then, after a few applications will not go off until a brake pipe union has been released!   Did not cause grabbing and you cannot actuate the servo before the master cylinder  so far as I am aware.    There is a thread about this somewhere.  I adjusted mine by trial and error as I cannot see anyway to measure the clearance.   You still have to push the brakes hard as the servo is nowhere near as powerful as on a modern car - I once had an MOT fail as the tester was familiar only with Citroens I think.    I now have trouble with the wfe's Skoda stopping too quickly as I apply the brakes Fulvia/Aprilia fashion.    Why not try braking on some fine gravel to see which brakes are locking up?
