Wanted!
« on: 15 February, 2016, 09:22:40 AM »
Forum members, I think it was the first one I'd seen up for sale since I bought my restoration project B12 in 2011, but an original LANCIA AVRELIA 2a SERIE USO E MANUTENZIONE BOOK came up for auction on ebay last week.

It started out at £32 odd and ended at £82, I'd bid a couple of times up to £65, which I thought was reasonable, but there you go!

Does anyone have a spare, duplicate or one they no longer need for sale or indeed know a collector outside the forum who may be approached?

PM me if necessary,

Thanks

I believe Omicron sell photocopies of all the Handbooks in English at a reasonable price.

I don't think there was a full English version of this handbook for 2nd Series Aurelia (as in B12) production but there was certainly a factory publication in English without illustrations to be read in conjunction with the illustrations in the Italian handbook.
So I am not exactly sure what you are after here Frank. Is it just the Italian illustrated handbook or the original 1954 publication by the factory in English?

Hi Chris, either or, or indeed both, particularly as I didn't know about the variations!

I think Paul Mayo also has good photocopies of these handbooks as well as the LMC library.

I have just had a chance to go through my Aurelia paperwork bits and pieces and whilst I don't have an original Italian Aurelia drivers handbook, I do have both of Paul Mayo's A4 versions as well as a couple of very good reproduction Aurelia handbooks with coloured covers in the correct size. One is 1st Series with the Berlina Gran Turismo 1991cc supplement in the back and the other is titled Aurelia Gran Turismo 2500.
They have colour covers but I cant remember where I bought them.

The Registro also published a very useful collection of all the handbooks in the correct size and these well bound in paperback form. These occasionally come up on ebay and are often described as 'original' whereas they were printed I think in the 80's or early 90's.

And then I have a couple of comprehensive original English 'Aurelia 2nd Series Instruction Book' supplements (without illustrations) produced by the factory to be read with the Italian Uso e Manutenzione.
And then finally I have a 'Roneod' (the predecessor of photocopying for the youngsters) Aurelia Gran Turismo 2500 instruction book  produced by Lancia England dated 1st edition 1964 which is a little tired but complete.
I have no wish to sell any of these and somewhat frustratingly I now realise I do not have an original Aurelia  Uso e Manutenzione handbook in Italian so I will keep my eyes open

Yes, had seen that, spoke to my bank manager, he said you'd have to be criminally insane to pay that price ransom!

I only ever found the Italian editions of the B12 instruction book, plus the short English supplement without illustrations.
I used to put these together as a package.

My list of B12 publications is attached.

Also the cover of the instruction book, as above and the wiring diagram and legend.
