Hello again - I'm looking for some more advice.  The "1.3S"  bonnet badge and the "Lancia" and "Fulvia" script badges from the rear panel of my S2 Coupe have some pitting to the surfaces, and the bonnet badge has been highlighted in blue paint by the previous owner.  Does anybody have any tips on restoring these.  I'm not sure what the underlying material is (mazak, aluminium?) and I don't know what the plating finish is - it has a dull silvery finish.  Has anybody found a spray-on coating that comes any where close to the original finish?
Would appreciate any tips or suggestions.   Norm Thomas, Ormskirk, Lancashire

Unfortunately I can't remember who the supplier was but these were available new from Italy and at one time the Biscaretti Museum had a lot of repros, and the Fulvia script for my 2c was bought from Italy by Cesari Ferrari for me, but that was sometime ago.
Anyone remember who the supplier was?

Thank you Frank, Brian and Ade.
My S2 came without rear badges so I bought a pair of used ones on Ebay.  The S3 ones that Frank referred to seem easy to get hold of, but the S2 rectangular ones (not the script version of the early S2) seem hard to find.  The ones I bought are in good condition - but I'd have liked to have been able able to improve them.  So far I haven't heard anything about re-plating options - maybe that's just not feasible.  With regard to my bonnet badge I'd have prefer to restore the current one rather than replace - but replacement may end up being the only way forward!

You could try Pamela David Enamels in Devon. They may be able to re-chrome your Ebay badges. They restored my 2-part Aprilia badge to an excellent standard.

Brian Hilton recently mentioned a Flaminia Restoration web site to me. On it the owner had the rear lights of a Touring GT stripped, filled, primered and replated. I contacted him to ask if some special filler and primer had to be used as I was surprised plating would take over paint. This is his response;

"I had to get the old chrome removed, sanded them back, filled with normal body filler and ordinary primer. The platers then copper and chrome plated them.

They did have issues with getting the final finish right - not sure they will take on another set after mine!!!"

However a badge might just be too fiddly.

Robin & Frank - thanks for the pointers.  Much appreciated.
I'll talk to badge craft.
