I have a family member who's been looking to by an Evo1 or 2 and might be interested in bidding on this one on ebay but it's too far away to have a pre look before bidding

You could phone the specialists listed who've maintained it and ask their opinion? Plus query the engine rebuild aspect?

Unfortunately John whalley ceased trading a couple of years ago. It depends on which specialist last looked after it.....

The pictures look tasty and the Porsche in the background inspires confidence (unless it's a plant).

I was interested to note the parcel shelf with a bump to clear the spare wheel. It clearly isn't needed to cover the space saver that is fitted and I had thought these shelves were only fitted to early 8v integrals. Does anyone know more and does it raise any questions?

As the car is in Manchester I suspect servicing by John Whalley in Hertfordshire was much earlier in its' life.

Hi ,

The Parcel Shelf is correct for the Evo1/2 and the most expensive thing to replace if you want one without speakers! I don't know what 8v/16vs look like - can't recall having a close look at one. I know that on my Delta 1300 the shelf was different (flat) and so were the supports and boot light ( as it's all swapped round ).

Erm - Southport Merseyside is a fair hike from (Stockport?) Manchester! If Don Williamson was amenable he might be able to look at it, can't be far from him in Ainsdale?

Apologies if I'm dropping Don in it!

It does look nice, but i know from experience that even the worst of cars can look nice in photos, may have to just chance it, can always walk away from it if not as described, but it's a real hassle to travel several hours for collection only to find out it's hiding some nasties, i assume no one knows this car?

It's all a fair hike from Bishops Stortford Guy. You'll have to forgive an East Anglian for the over generalised geography.
