I am having floor panels made for my Appia Promiscuo and have decided to make the jigs so that more can be made for other interested parties

I have already made floors for the later cars (3rd ser saloon and S2 furgoncino are identical), but before I can finalise the jig for the early cars I need to be sure we are doing the right thing ! I have later cars here to measure, so I know these are correct

However, I could do with confirming the pattern for the early cars. DiKappa has been able to show early-floor mods to my pattern taken from later cars, but I would like to see some other cars before I go ahead

The floors are the same left and right and LHD/RHD - just need the cut out for the pedals. The panels have been made oversize to give a bit more "wiggle"

The pictures below show the later pattern in red and the early pattern as pencil line mods. I took plaster cast molds so the profiles are pretty accurate as well !

We are looking at about £90 plus post per side, please let me know if you are interested or need more info.

Thanks for your help - ideally with some photos of your car's floor !

That's where the distinctive flavour comes from!

Simon, attached is a photograph of the LH front floor panel that Jim made for my car (S2). As I remember things it is identical to the RH panel, I cannot remember there being a cut out for the pedal shown on your drawing!! That I cannot remember is absolutely no indication of its presence or otherwise!! This panel extends rearwards only as far as the cross member and thus is smaller than that in your drawing. I hope this helps.

                                    Andy

PS It may be of interest, Jim's MO for making the new panel ....

Cut out existing panel, clamp to new piece of sheet cut slightly oversize, drill through the original panel swage lines where their full depth finishes sufficient just to mark the new panel. Unclamp the panels, draw lines between the marks on the new panel to indicate the swage lines, the swaging machine is stopped at the marks giving exactly the correct length of swages. Incidentally, Jim turned up a pair of swage wheels to get the correct profile of the swages.
I hope that makes sense!!

Thanks for that, useful pictures that help confirm the form of both early and later panels. And yes, the MO made sense !

I wasn't going to do a cut out for the pedals because that would then "hand" the panels - it is a very simple cut out and I can send a pattern for anyone who needs it

Also ,a  forma (spelling ??) has been made for the whole panel using an accurate plan of an original floor, this will ensure that the panels are all the same ..... I was hoping that we would be able to modify this to make the early floors as well, but I think that we will have to make another forma.

ps - this is where the "unique aroma" really comes from ! Juliet claims that is very good for her skin .....

Hmmm... all that wine Hmmm... anyway Simon is right the earlier cars have a different floor as the ones in my car (what's left of them ) are not square into the footwell but have a taper starting  about 6" back on the outside. my photos don't really show this
