Hi

Details were mentioned of the GNW for next year but I've forgotten other than it was May and in Harrogate. Can anyone enlighten me and I'll correct this topic header and the calendar so we're up to date?

*Now Updated and will go on the website*

I think it's 6th to 8th May. I'll check before the next committee meeting if that is not confirmed by someone.

Yes it is on the 6th to 8th May and I will have to miss it - which is a great shame as I will be out of the country.  It is probably as close as you can get it for us southerners so I would highly recommend it if you have not been before.  The organisers are Bruce and Wendy, who are great hosts.

Bruce & Wendy don't do the internet (I don't think they even have a reliable signal), so all the details will be in VL in due course. Usually a similar cost to the AGM weekend.

I'm a new member to the club and this is my first post so hi everyone!

If anyone is interested there is a hillclimb at Harewood on the weekend of the Great Northern Weekend with a round of the British Hillclimb Championship on the Sunday, practice for them and wider range of cars on the Saturday. Harewood is close to Harrogate, taking less than 30 minutes to get there. I'm on the marketing committee at Harewood and could arrange a dedicated parking area for the club if enough people are interested in attending. Details of Harewood events are on www.harewoodhill.com - I'm intending to compete on the Saturday, not in a Lancia as I haven't found what I want yet, but in another Italian - my Fiat Coupe.

Thanks for this Andy. I'll see what I can do to pass this on to Bruce who is organising the GNW.

What a Joke!

After a great GNW in the very same hotel in 2007 & immediately upon receiving my VL 571 this evening, I have just tried to book a family room (for my family of four) only to be told that the LMC have only booked rooms of up to three persons and that the hotel itself only has four family rooms all of which are booked up for this weekend.

The manager and his rude sidekick 'Enzo' would not entertain putting a temp bed for our youngest son as it is against their H&S policy.

So no GNW for us this year!

Very disappointed by the LMC's narrow mindedness and the Hotel's attitude Huh?
