Its not a Lancia but a Wolsley, but its a friend of mine and a great story well told and now "as featured in Practical Classics":

https://www.facebook.com/PracticalClassics?fref=ts

In brief its THE car he's always wanted (and had and lost) and it was dragged out of a scrap yard, the minimum done to it, then pressed into daily use.  20,000 miles in three years and an epic struggle the whole way.

Its one to show the family so YOU don't look SO bad after all Smiley

That Facebook link is a bit clunky.  Here's his channel:

Haven't time this evening to watch it all. Watched one where he's out on the road. Great stuff. Love the English chase music at the beginning too. How did the gearchange end up on the right? Must have been a very convoluted design back to the gearbox. Perhaps I'll find out why it was designed like that if I watch the rest. I like his great enthusiasm for the car.

Gear change on the right...who knows why...but its not nice to use and is an absolute pig to work on.  Its also prone to do itself damage.

Well that second car looks like a weekend's light entertainment for Chugga....

The right hand gear change is a throwback to external gear changes, a little nod to history.

The Riley version was called tha "Pathfinder" but the handling was so notorious that they were popularly referred to as "Ditchfinders".
