I'm currently trying to do a bulk buy on inch Lockheed brake parts for aprilia's and augustas , I intend to buy wheel cylinder seal and boot kits , master cylinder seal and boot kits , complete new master cylinders and brake hoses . the brake hoses are different to aprilia and nearly 2" longer , most people supply aprila hoses for augustas however these stretch on full lock as the inner wing mounting on an augusta is futher away from the back plate than on an aprilia . anyone interested please get in touch as once I've done a deal it will be done and that's it

Count me in for one of everything please James.

Re. Aprilia Silentblocs, Robush are brilliant, but I have trouble finding their listing of bushes, I asked for and have a catalogue which I find a lot easier to use. I am off to the NEC for a week but will take it with me if you want to send the dimensions.

Best wishes,

I had noted at end of last year that the Augusta brakes were getting a bit less good than before but still really very useable. I also then thought that it was well over 10 years since I even topped up the fluid so expect there is possibly some water around. No obvious leaks. Aprilia seems ok but still quite new (to me) and so a bit of an unknown quantity. I will replace fluid and see if any difference - circulate final warning please before closing order list.

most of my spares are now 30+ years old so probably best to invest in a couple of new sets as my Augusta will no doubt need a new lot if and when it get to the ground floor of the workshop.

Peter Renou made up brass pistons to replace the aluminium ones as he found they corroded easily if not maintained properly as per an article their ALR news letter

Hi James do Augustas just specify Lockheed as Aprilias use another manufacturer ad well with obscure seal sets....

Yes, Aprilias had Sabif as well as Lockheed. I suspect many cars have a mix of the 2 due to parts availabilty

My Aprila WAS Sabif throughout.... I was just raising a flag for owners to double check....

S1 Aprilia and ALL Augustas are on inch Lockheed , S2 Aprilia , appia etc (post war) are on sabif , never had a problem with pistons if I'm honest , must be lucky , all the genuine pistons are brass or steel , replacement again usually post war are alloy , new pistons is not something I'm going to get involved with at this stage as I have too much on atm , I think if you were going to do it stainless would be the answer not brass , brass is good but still corrodes

Only 6 years Later....... do yo have any master cylinder seals left? I have just acquired a 1935 Belna and the master cylinder is weeping. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks Daniel Bangham. I hope to be around at the rally on the Sunday (25th 2021)
