I purchased a set of 35 Dellorto last year and have just got round to overhauling them.
However, I have discovered a problem on one of the auxiliary venturi retainer fittings.
Basically, the thread is shot and it leaks. It looks like someone has attempted to fix before but failed so just then sold them to me!

I obtained a new retainer/bolt but can't secure this because of the poor thread.

I have a tap & die set so could probably turn a new thread. However, this will then be bigger so the retainer bolt will not fit.

It has a small spring operated part that secures the venturi which is why I've not just cut a new thread and inserted a new larger bolt to blank it off as there will be nothing to secure the venturi which will then just spin.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so, what was the solution? I've attached a pic in case I've got any of the terminology wrong.
thanks.

Investigate Timeserts for your thread size (what is the thread size)?

Your local tool shop will have a variety of thread inserts which are better then the original, really.
