Took the 2000HF Coupe to our local festival in Wanstead. We were the only Lancia and only Italian car there. There was an interesting 1948 Lagonda, a very nice Lotus Elan 2+2 and a couple if interesting Panhards.

Have you some Panhard photographs for us to see Justin? They are quite fascinating cars.

A local friend of mine is restoring a Panhard P17 (I think) saloon. I will try to get some pictures.

Photo of Panhard - there was also an older white Panhard saloon which I didn't take a photo of.
Jean Panhard died recently - an obituary from DT. Interesting man; interesting car manufacturer.

These Panhards are superb little cars, with Lancia-like thinking behind them. There are usually some at my local car show here in France. Can't remember if I have photos or not. There was one model displayed with its bonnet open. Not only was it one piece aluminium (I think) including wings, but the whole thing opened like a clamshell leaving unrestricted access down to chassis level. The lovely little engine was then attached to the tub by outriggers like an aircraft. Another car I have in my fantasy garage.

Hi Stanley
The white Panhard which I didn't photograph opened as you describe.
There's a photo (i suspect of the actual same car) at the following link

Thanks Bob. Have had it 1 year now. Just got the MOT renewed yesterday - no problems, just 1 advisory (nearside idler arm has some play). So 6000 miles in that year with two minor issues in that time - 1) faulty voltage regulator which fried the battery - new regulator and new battery and 2) cooler fan relay expired - new relay.
The exhaust is a bit loud for my taste (a couple of the baffles are loose) but that isn't an urgent issue.

The car looks better in photos than in the flesh. The bonnet leading edge requires attention (bubbling from previous repair work); rear offside wheelarch requires cleaning up; rear valance needs to be renewed (Colin Clamp has had one made for me - just waiting to get it) and a few bubbles here and there which need attention.
Overall the car is very solid and original. I think that you too looked at it whenh it was for sale but was put off by the colour - and it isnt the concours standard of your Flavia.

However, In have enjoyed 12 months wonderful motoring. Highlights being the Goodwood trackday, north Norfolk coastal roads and trip to Gent, Belgium.

Anyhow, I still covet your beautiful red Flavia Coupe! I was hoping to see you and the car at the AGM!

Roger,
Seems to have gone to the great graveyard in the sky as it doesn't appear on the DVLA Register Roll Eyes
