Rust , What Rust !! I don't See any rust !!!

« on: 04 August, 2014, 07:57:00 PM »

I have lost the keys for my Beta sedan Huh?, The car has been stored in a couple of different places over the past thirty years. Over this this time the keys got lost, I have an ignition key and lock so that's no problem, Does anybody know if I can get a set of door keys made from the locks that I have ? I would like to keep the original locks as they are in good condition .  Smiley Thanks. David.

If you need to find the key number for the doors/petrol flap/boot it ought to be inscribed on the back of the glovebox lock (the plastic bit I think!) which ought to allow you to get one cut by one of the specialists on the links in the second post.

Cooper keys in Chelmsford came up with a special way of cutting these keys at the request (I think) of the local dealer when these keys were new. They are old school whizzes at this sort of thing, and not expensive, you can try them.

Result !! Access Lock and Key in Margate came up trumps  Cheesy. I sent the fuel filler lock to them and they made me two keys , one for a spare, They also gave me the key number as well . I tried the keys this evening and they work all round . I am delighted . Thanks for the great Help. David. Grin
