A film poster and a film link, does anyone have the film? From http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yafIvKriSgo

A little trivia ..... one of the stars of this film, Jean Louis Tritignant was a nephew of Maurice Tritignant, a renowned driver in the 50s. He drove, inter alia,  the Ferrari 801, the D50 derivative and, on retirement from the race scene, became involved in another of my passions, wine!!! He was a producer, I a mere consumer!!

Parisien -- No, I finally managed to succeed in acquiring one around 1995 - I think you read that story!

The two cars in the photos were not for sale, until they were apparently for sale a few months after we saw them.

Even in the 1980s, the roving European dealers often succeeded when the "locals" could not.

Was interesting enough to make it to the end and a little way down the comments.

Having read it I pondered the advice "buy the best example you can afford of the model you want".  I did that, and screwed some timber into the sills to get it home.  Thing is I'm not at all sure I wanted it until I saw it...for all I remain unrepentant, even pleased with it.

They/he seemed dismissive of some random rich person with a classic 911 and a tesla. I didn't quite get the point. Who wouldn't want either or both of those if they could afford them?  Money no object I'd love to at least try the BMW hybrid thing and the Tesla saloon.

THE example of a collector came recently from Simon.  A gentleman in Italy with the complete set of Appias.  That's dedication...  I've heard of the tipping point being when you stop thinking with excitement about which one you'd like next and instead are bothered by which ones are missing from the set.
