I was in Umbria a couple of weeks ago staying with an ex pat couple who run a very lovely B&B with artists and photographer groups a speciality.

Mine host was an exceptionally likeable guy who had hired a minibus and drove us everywhere. One trip included a stop at the local village garage to see if a relay for his Volvo had been delivered, it was already two days late!! Of course it still was not there ....... but look at the photos below to see what was. The front view and the engine were photographed on the first visit, the rear view was photographed four days later (the relay still had not been delivered!!). The poor quality of the rear view is in the main due to the fact the the garage proprietor was respraying a car in the open garage, not even an attempt to create a booth or contain the paint spray or fumes!!!!  Italian health and safety eh!!!  Yes, it is a 1600HF.

Like all good Europeans other than the Brits they choose which bits of EU law they want to use, and ignore the rest!

At least he's masked the carb intakes and exhaust so that the car doesn't breathe in anything horrible. Local kids, wildlife etc will have to fend for themselves. As Brian says, it seems the UK is the only law-abiding country in the EU (possibly Germany?). Here there are kids and adults on motorbikes riding around without helmets, or as a nod to security will balance one on the top of their head. The B+B sounds nice.........
