S2 Brake Master Cylinder
« on: 07 May, 2014, 03:37:39 PM »
I've got involved with sorting out a brake problem on a friend's S2 Sport and have a question.  The diagram of the master cylinder in the Fulvia Concise Repair Shop Manual shows item 10 as being the Rear chamber inlet port and item 5 the Front chamber inlet port. However, on this cylinder and also the one on my S2 Berlina the front chamber outlet port is not drilled. It is centre punched but that's all. Why is it not drilled?

Same as mine as well (all 3) - seems it was unnecessary to feed fluid from reservoir at the front. Also you may find your overhaul kit has an O ring for one of the seals (middle if my memory serves). The push rod length is critical as if slightly too long it stops any fluid getting into the chambers......
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?
