Good news for those who missed out on the exercise workout (ask Andy) and the free lunch and a pint courtesy of the consortium. We get to do this all again!!
some time later this summer we need to do a repeat run as there is still a considerable amount of loose spares to move I will keep you posted.

Big thanks to Mike the Fulvia and his son today as they did sterling work unloading the truck also to Matron Clarke. All the stuff is now in it's new home and I will get it sorted next week. Have had a great day today as I have been riding about in a bright red Fulvia and got chance to have a tinker under the bonnet. Not so good news on my Appia got the gear change connected but I have snapped a gear change  link thing.
Word from Don is sometime in August for round 2 of "Empty that Barn"

Jim, I regret to say that I did not notice a 'gear change link thing' in all the spares we loaded ..... such is life!!

By the way, where are the other 6 gearboxes? Your photograph shows only four!!  Do you think we have enough 'boxes or should we put out a request for more!!!

It was a brilliant day on Thursday and makes me realise all the more what an incredible job Don has done for so many years. He has amassed a great selection of secondhand spares and a huge selection of new parts and incredibly knows  the whereabouts of everything!!

A couple of photos, sorry that Jim and dog with van is so over-exposed, my phone threw a hissy fit!! The photo of Don in the doorway of the barn gives an idea of the size of the venture, I cannot pretend that the barn was full, but Don has had a good go at it.

As Jim said, there is still a lot of spares to move, probably enough to fill another 7.5T van. Then there are all the new consumables, that I estimate will be yet another truck full !!

Congratulations to Jim and the Hartlepool team for the unloading effort, only the sorting and storing away to do before going to get the next load.

                                       Andy

Ooops, so it was not Thursday, it was Friday. That is what an Appia may do to you, you lose all track of time such is the joy of ownership.

Well done all concerned. Glad that my brother in law and nephew, Cameron, were able to join in ! A great intro to "Life with a Lancia".

Mike, the tall one, has just acquired a delightful 2nd ser Fulvia coupe and an emormous collection of Fulvia (and other) bits, so I'm sure we will hear more from him when time permits.

Last count of the gearboxes was a bakers dozen! Don reckons there is a few more to come yet. I am busy the early part of this week doing some exam marking training so later in the week I will do a stock check and have a sort out.

There is always a silver lining.... the joiner person in the unit next to mine has been giving his marching orders so his unit had to be stripped out so it could be repainted etc. Good news is he had benched right round the room so you can guess who snaffled all the timberwork. So tomorrow I might get my joiners hat on and sort out the benching as promised (my nickname at school in the woodwork class was 'The Woodworm' as I destroyed most bits of wood I came across tee hee!) chances are I will blacken a thumbnail after the first five minutes and need Matron Clarke to give me a quick amputation.

Very neat, well done.

One quick question, are you planning to run work top all the way to the end wall and fix it there? If not just wondered if it needed some sort of bracing at the front to stop it potentially moving sideways.
