Is this book still available through the club? When the last form appeard in VL I put in somewhere safe and have never seen it since! Giving up ever finding it, I was about to contact Jack when I received the news of his heart attack so I'm not sure how to order at the moment unless I'm altogether too late.

Hi Stan

I have volunteered to administer future purchases of the book but they wont be at £10 I am afraid. The committee decided that as there potential resellers it had to be fair and sell the small surplus at the cover price. This will recoup some of the investment made by Ted Bates legacy in putting this magnus opus together.

The cover price is £75 plus postage.

Let me know

Thanks Tim. Might have to pass on that as nice as it is. My fault for not ordering straight away. No doubt I'll find the form tomorrow!

Seems a shame that bona fide members and those who have become members since the order forms went out but before publication can't benefit from the discounted price. My son Jonathan falls into the last category and won't be able to afford the full price.

Is there a consensus as to what a "Club Price" should be?   What it ~could~ be is another matter.

Its a large format and thick book in a decent binding printed in a short run.  £75 doesn't seem outrageous for what it is but that's an entirely different thing from what the market (of LMC remembers) might stand.

Does £40 sound "affordable" rather than begging a loan of someone else's when its £75?

£52 if you include postage.  It will be interesting to see if any more turn up on Ebay and if so what they fetch.

Davis Thomas had a couple at Essen, for sale at 130 euros...
