BBC4 at 9:00 pm this evening 22 March – “Inspector De Luca”. It is set in Italy in the 1930s and I wouldn't be surprised to see an Augusta or Aprilia at some point.

Gee, that was less that inspiring, bar the sumptuous body of a certain Countess, it was hard going, the Lancias/FIAT(?) featured little.

Will I watch it again, maybe not seeing as the countess is serving time!

Oh good, wasn't just me then. I dozed off during the second half and when I woke up even the dog had gone to bed. (In my defence. it is on an hour later here due to the time difference.). But Inspector Montalbano it wasn't.

Very few cars, FIAT Ballia and Lancia Augusta in two scenes and three shots of Aprillias.  Thought the Countess's car might have been an Astura when glimpsed in long shot but later shot showed it wasn't, maybe a FIAT Ardta?

I kept falling asleep during last nights episode, first time I've attempted to watch it and as Stan says,  Inspector Montalbano it's not, having fallen asleep yet again I woke up just in time to see an Aprilia that was stationary in shot for a couple of minutes.
I assume the Tarot card reading wench with the severely plunging neckline who got bumped off, wasn't the countess from last weeks episode?
Not sure I'll attempt to stay awake long enough to watch next weeks episode though, the Inspector is a bit too intense for my liking.

I quite enjoyed it, but then I was part way through a bottle of merlot!! As you say Brian, the Inspector is very intense.

It was an Aprilia into which they all bundled to escape the advancing Allies, but it did seem to have a bonnet mascot. Was that ever an option or was it a personal addition?

Anyway, I hope to watch it next week.

Funny you should mention that Brian........no idea....not watched it yet!

I think the 11/10 Countess will be in prison for several decades unless she knows Mr Berlusconi, in which case just a few days......Wink

I thought she couldn't be charged because she had given Il Duce an alibi for whatever he was doing!

Andy, It's anorak time for me again. It wasn't an Aprilia, it was an Ardea. In this photo of an Ardea you can just make out the flag-emblem on the top of the radiator.

I must say I am growing to like Inspector De Luca.
