Slow but rough

Hi
I will shortly refitting a series 2 engine and gearbox into a series 1 car any tips? do you need the gearbox in neutral or in a gear, any advice would be very useful.

I have just taken a engine/box out of  a third series and chose the gear that left the selector fork (attached via bolt to the box) tipped upwards, ie leaning back towards the bulkhead.

This was the first time that I had removed an Appia engine so I am sure there are others out there with much more knowledge

Bill Lewis may be able to help with the floors but I do not know if he has Appia templates or you need to send him something to copy. PM me and I will send his details
