I have a friend Overseas who is interested in this Fulvia for sale on ebay, does anyone know anything about it? Is it a club member's car?

Looks like a lot of work needs doing on this! And it was last taxed back in 1986.

I'd just sound a word of caution if your friend is genuinely interested. If you note the ad...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-Fulvia-Zagato1-3S-spares-Auction-for-a-S-S-BONNET-FINISHER-/331074981530?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4d159b4e9a&nma=true&si=nhLAmP3PxTh6iC%252Fn1Zy3velqxTE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
...for instance, this ebay user is openly listing and flogging parts from a Fulvia Zagato separately. So if your friend is interested in a restoration project he should certainly be checking and counting that all the parts needed to complete the car are indeed present in the ebay listing you gave! It could be very expensive trying to source all those hard-to-find parts otherwise that our ebay friend has cherry picked to sell off separately.

The seller is David Kerley who was a club member at one time. He has owned a number of Fulvia Sports over the years.

there's an even tougher project that's just been listed by a different seller http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-Fulvia-Zagato-Super-Legere-1969-1298cc-Spares-or-Repairs-/151211754481?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2334ec43f1

I see from the sellers comments someone already bought it and walked away after looking at in the flesh. Did anyone see it listed before ? and what did it go for ? It could be useful for spares only . thanks David.

It is a lot of work, but the add does say what is included in the sale parts wise. It may not be a bad buy IF you can do most to the work yourself. Any running Zagato is at least 7K now and good ones 10K upwards so no profit if you pay someone I would say.

That is a challenge with a capital C !!!!!!!!!!

The problem with projects like this is that there is not enough of the original left to be able to set the floor pan and thus the whole shell to its true dimensions. All would have to be done from scratch, definitely not a task I would want to take on. Building a jig would be a huge job in itself.

It makes the south London Sport look a breeze ..... David, take heart!!!!

Good luck to anyone who takes it on as a restoration project .....

current bids of £2.20 suggest it's being seen as a huge challenge. The vehicle was last taxed/on road in 1986. I'm sure it will yield some parts but I get the impression most of the mechanicals are in bits too. No doubt, someone will buy it but I'd be astounded if it was ever restored. Such a shame to see them in this state

This car XMM 60G was advertised on eBay auction and sold for a few hundred pounds in August 2010, but I suspect was not collected, and hence the re-advertisement.  It appears to have deteriorated further.  Looking at the photos carefully, a lot of the bright metal parts and difficult to obtain bits are missing, although it possibly still is a source of some parts.

SCV 747G is probably a much better proposition, although still significant. S1 Sports are getting quite rare, and are lovely to drive.  By the way, if anyone does look at / buy this car, I would be very pleased to know its VIN for the Zagato Register records.

Agreed XMM 60G appears to have broken its back due to corrosion, very difficult to see a future for that one and as an early car useful spares donor seems its fate as sad as it sounds.

looks like the Fulvia Zagato with the broken back found a new home as the buyer is now advertising a wing from it.
In the listing he says he is going to restore the car and is selling the aluminium wing as he has found a steel replacement. Brave chap but good luck to him.

Like to follow that restoration. As you say, good luck to him. Better than seeing a Zagato crushed into a cube.

Some basic detective work looks like this project has been picked up by a professional (welder)...

It's great he's taken this on as a restoration project.
