I'm about to start re-assembling the engine for my superjolly.

Today, I received a gasketset which finally seems to carry the correct 0.1mm gaskets.
This is the fourth set now, with the others having gaskets 0.15mm and even 0.20mm thick, or the third set correct thickness but too small in diameter.

So now before I proceed: is there any advise available on how to fit the gaskets?  (I would use some grease, or is there a better product or should they be fitted dry?)

The gaskets are made of very thin (obviously) white glossy paper.

Any advise most welcome as I would like to get this right from the first time!

Thanks,

Koen

When I rebuilt my Flavia engine, I didn't use any sealer at all. I assume that the gaskets you refer to are those at the bottom of the liners and just let the cylinder heads pull down on top of the liners, having set the liners the correct distance above the block.

Correct, they should be fitted dry and the liner standoff from the fireface (head gasket face) measured and checked against the factory settings.

No problem, I found rebuilding a Flavia engine quite tricky. Although it is all beautifully constructed it is quite sensitive to build.
