I was the early bird! actually I preferred todays lighting, much better than there usual horrible orange sodium type lighting that that gives terrible results, these are off my phone and not that good but the colour is better.
To Steve Margaret & the team a big thank you, sorry I couldn't stay but I'll see you sunday.

Photographs *really* appreciated here in Oz guys, thank you (Fay looking especially fetching Brian).  The NEC was always the weekend of my year, and if I miss anything of our yearly cycle of events, it is this.  So many memories of Thursday set up, and that wonderful moment on Friday morning when it all kicked off.  Better than going to the 'proper' motor show when I was a little lad.  I'm sure I walked around the place with a permanent grin.  So greetings to all, I will be with you in spirit - have a drink for me and wish us well.  Special greetings to our wonderful friends Steve and Margaret, and much love to Emma.

The Surrey contingent visited the show, a good LMC display with the three Fulvias along with the Betaboyz and Montecarlo team, you are bound to have many enthusiastic visitors over the weekend. Well done!

A big thank you to Steve and Margaret and everybody else involved - the stand was fantastic and a lovely environment to pass away the time.

Andy, considering how hard it is to get photos at the NEC they're super! (I you want a couple on the website then feel free to upload on the database or send me a couple)

Friday was busy, but Saturday was , well , packed ! I did a bit of shop minding and looking up it seemed like a tide of people shuffling along ! It seemed to me the show was smaller and there was a lot more for sale and they'd changed the layout completely (I can never remember where we were the year before!) But , as Andy said, it's a great way of spending some time.

One of the side effects can be that conversations on the stand have hour long intermissions while chatting to the visitors but no matter!

Andy's integrale was often swamped with photographers and the fulvias were also popular and I was told how complicated the Aprilia suspension is by a guy who worked on them as an apprentice - but also said how engineered they were - which is always said. It's also worth mentioning that having the cut-away engine and Robin's slide show also worked well (IMHO)

I think that the stand layout and selection of cars was great and the location was also good - the show resembled a giant U and we were right in the middle where it wasn't too wide - so everyone would've passed by.

I've filed file all the window sheets in the library in LMCHistoricDocuments/NEC archives/2013

I've said it before and I'm no doubt like an old record but - you are very lucky to have a show like the NEC, and we are very lucky to have a club like the LMC, that can still turn out a selection of cars like this every year.  Well done to everyone involved (I know how much hard graft it takes, but also how satisfying it can be...).

Great day yesterday (Sunday) at the NEC. Nice to put faces to names. Spent a lot of time talking to people about the car and even got approached by two people for a chat when filling up on the way home  Smiley

Many thanks to Steve and Margaret for organising the stand and for your hospitality. We felt very welcome.

A couple of photos from me, although I don't know how to operate any of the settings on my camera that would counter the sodium lighting in the NEC...

We did sign up new members on both days when I was there ... and I managed to get two out of two hits with people that had owned cars which were showing on the ex-members listing (which is a test load I have of full set of cars) - it was (personally) really pleasing to be able to find the registration, model and build date of the car! Both were joining the club (if I remember correctly)

Andy : your picture shows what the integrale is like at a show - bonnet up is always a draw too .... Smiley

Congratulations to everyone involved in putting together another brilliant display. The cars look stupendous as always and the engine is a winner.

To my mind, there should always be a purely technical piece on display, if only to demonstrate Lancia's great innovation and how function and form were always put first with the accountants following up a poor second. Just as an example, imagine an Aprilia rear axle assembly on display, particularly if it was alongside a beautiful Berlina such as AUJ 270.

Hopefully next year I will be able to assist in some way rather than view it secondhand, somewhat enviously, from the sidelines.

Well 'The NEC' over for another year, as always extremely tiring but very enjoyable. We finally got home (10 mins from the NEC) at 8pm on Sunday after the stand breakdown.

The hall looked almost as deserted again as the photo Brian took on set-up day. It really is amazing the transformation from empty hall to the  bustling display you see on the show days.

Thanks for all the kind comments on the stand, it is very much appreciated, obviously the 'cars are the stars' but they wouldn't be there
without the great generosity and enthusiasm of all the owners. So to Brian, Robin, Peter, Andy and Cesare a very big thank you.

From David , Margaret and myself many thanks also to all who helped on the stand over the weekend, Peter Gerrish for the fantastic cutaway
engine which proved a real hit and to Steve P and Mark Lima for producing the excellent car information cards and windscreen banners.

Last count I think we had signed 7 new members with many more application forms given out so hopefully that number will increase.

On a personal note my biggest thanks has to go to Margaret who dealt with all the form filling , of which there is a LOT, sending passes out sorting all the food and drink/ hospitality etc and to cap it all she also helped get the engine off and on the van on the set-up/breakdown days!!
